I'm also surprised you want to compare the US to Venezuela, I thought you'd normally compare countries that are on more of an equal footing.

My problem with "work hard and earn stuff for yourself", is that some people never have the chance. Some people are born sick, or get sick at a very young age, and you don't decide which family you are born into. I believe both of our countries, are rich enough to take care of the basic health care needs of its citizens, and I believe that such health care is a human right.

Again, I'm sorry if I've come across as disrespecting your opinion, that is not my intention.Rebekka @ Becky's Kaleidoscopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08561986047548051036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295224825113286500.post-27197857743518959292012-02-13T23:26:58.414-08:002012-02-13T23:26:58.414-08:00Please respect my opinions like I respect yours. I...Please respect my opinions like I respect yours. I do not need to be persuaded, I know my beliefs and "experience" has nothing to do with it.
How many people pay taxes in your country? Ours is 50 percent, our country is not set up for universal healthcare and is not based of those principles and there is NO WAY we can afford it. There is plenty of countries that have turned out wrong, most actually. Like Venezuela that have horrible healthcare and many people dying because of it.
You know we have "DEATH panels" set up in Obamacare MEANING how much "FREE" healthcare you get is not decided by you but by your social standing in the community. SICK.

MY BELIEFS: Is you should work hard and earn stuff for yourself.

If you disagree I have no problem, that is what I LOVE about my country. :)Kelseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03936524446194648651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295224825113286500.post-64544728789806771792012-02-13T13:06:51.902-08:002012-02-13T13:06:51.902-08:00I have to say I strongly disagree with you in term...I have to say I strongly disagree with you in terms of free universal health care, it is very clear that you have no experience with a properly run health care system.

I'm from Denmark, small country, 5.5 million people, but we have one of the strongest economies in the world, we come in as the happiest country in the world over and over again despite our miserable weather, we pay the highest taxes in the world, but out minimum wage is also $18 an hour, all education (including tertiary level) is free, and students actually get paid to study. And yeah, our health care is free. 90% plus is completely satisfied with the health care system, we have more doctors and hospital beds per person than the US, whilst spending half the amount of what the US does. So, we get more for less money, everyone is covered, and more than 90% are satisfied. Sounds horrible indeed...

Check out these links:
http://www.denverpost.com/recommended/ci_13261279
http://www.commonwealthfund.org/~/media/Files/Publications/Fund%20Report/2010/Jun/1417_Squires_Intl_Profiles_622.pdfRebekka @ Becky's Kaleidoscopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08561986047548051036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295224825113286500.post-74121427340720409312012-02-11T12:20:53.907-08:002012-02-11T12:20:53.907-08:00ouch.. lol I came over cause you left me a comment...ouch.. lol I came over cause you left me a comment on my blog from the weekly music link up i think. Anyway, I agree with most of your thoughts. Not that you need me to agree with you. I have a few different views on healthcare but that's only because I'm a nurse and a vet and familiar with the VA ( government ran healthcare) it has good and bad but the main thing is we need to change and it starts with people at home. Yes democrats and republicans can point fingers all day long but honestly I think parents need to point some fingers at htemselves. Propbably yoru parents and my parents ( not that we are tha bad) but it was their generation that made not eating at the supper table a priority and well raising kids in general seemed to slip from their minds alot i think. ( again i was using our parents generation as an example your parents are probably fine and decent mine. ) ;-) anyway I liked reading your bits of opionions as you called them. I'll follow along if you will have me.The Keyes Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05657125564500141543noreply@blogger.com
